"A" Row in the Weapons Storage Area. The "igloos" in the background were dirt covered storage units, each with steel doors that dropped into channels recessed into the concrete pads in front of the buildings. Under the "Two-Man Rule," the doors were secured with two separate locks, of which no one person ever possessed both the keys. The little warehouse tug in the foreground was used to tow weapons and trailers around the WSA.
- Out and About in the WSA -
The roads and "igloos" (weapons storage structures) had to be kept readily available at all times, no matter what the weather conditions. In this particular case, a bit of late April snow fooled the driver into thinking that the access road was larger than its actual width! Using two large MB4 tow vehicles and a bit of muscle power, we got him up and running quickly, if for no other reason than the last thing we wanted was a "paperwork blizzard!"
